For longevity to be regarded as a blessing, the government should expand welfare programs for the elderly._0629

The increasing number of senior citizens, the product of an aging population has become a serious social issue. For an expanding life span to become a blessing rather than a burden, efforts by central and local governments should be continued.

Among other things, there is an increasing number of old people who live alone. The government should come up with wide-ranging measures to support this group.

Efforts made by the elderly alone cannot address their economic, health and medical issues. Rather, the government should play a more critical role in implementing effective policies including establishing leisure activities and facilities tailored for them.

Everybody has the right to happiness. If individuals cannot resolve an issue, the government should take action. Hopefully, the government will introduce supportive measures which can substantially improve the welfare of the old.
